The Department of Human Resource Management (HRM) offers the Bachelor of Business Management (Special) Degree in Human Resource Management, designed to meet the growing demand for skilled HR professionals across private, public, and non-governmental organizations. In addition to producing competent HR practitioners, the department nurtures entrepreneurs and HR/management consultants equipped to contribute meaningfully to national and organizational development.

Since its establishment in 1995, the department has demonstrated exceptional performance, consistently taking a leading role in shaping human resource management education in Sri Lanka. The industry continues to recognize the distinctiveness of Kelaniya HRM graduates, who embody the competencies and qualities outlined in the Graduate Attribute Profile. As a result, there is a steadily increasing demand for both undergraduates and graduates of the department for internship placements and employment opportunities.
